Audrey Tautou

Audrey Tautou, the oldest of four siblings was born on August 8, 1976 in Beaumont Puy-de Domme. The actress was encouraged by her parents, a dentist and a teacher, who both were teachers in the pursuit of her desire for theatre. This contrasted with her previous desire to become a primateologist because she was a fan of monkeys. The early success of her career and the rapid gain in acclaim was a sign of her development as an actor. In 1998, following the completion of her masters degree, she was asked to participate in Jeunes Premiers, a French television talent-scouting program that was sponsored by Canal+. She also received the award for Best Young Actress prize at the Beziers Festival of Young Actors. The experience led her to begin her professional acting career. Even though she went to an institution called the Institut Catholique de Paris and had a religious affiliation in her early years, Tautou has distanced herself from this upbringing, stating that she's not Catholic. The model pursued her career alongside her acting career and is the face of L'Oreal Mont Blanc and Chanel often referred to as The Chanel Muse. Photography is also her hobby and she has recently displayed her work at the Arles festival with the title Superficial. She focuses her photography on celebrities, fame and the media who scrutinized her following her fame-making debut with Amelie. In addition, there are some photographs of her own self. Audrey Tautou became a star and became famous internationally with her debut role as Amelie Poulain on the movie Le Fabuleux Destin d'Amelie. Amelie was a box office hit internationally and was recognized at many awards shows across the globe. The film is still the top-grossing French language film to be released in the US. Following this success Tautou starred in an array of film productions ranging from British dramas such as Stephen Knight's Dirty Pretty Things to Jean-Pierre Jeunet's Long Sunday de fiancailles before moving to Hollywood by directing Ron Howard of The Da Vinci Code, a Dan Brown bestseller The Da Vinci Code along with Tom Hanks.
